Powhattan is a home to a set of Minecraft servers focused on city and community building.
Powhattan's mission is to create and maintain a kind, enjoyable and super fun global community. We do a lot to support our community, such as organizing and maintaining various chats outside of the game itself to keep us connected even away from the keyboard.
Powhattan maintains both a Java and a Bedrock server, so no matter what device you prefer to play on, you can be a member of our community. You can even play on your phone during your commute!
Powhattan is strictly a vanilla survival server, enabling us to continue to innovate and find new, creative ways to play the game as it was meant to be played. This means no one gets any special advantages within the game, such as paying to win or buying OP spots.
As a spiritual successor to our founding team's original Minecraft server over 10 years ago, the Powhattan server carries on a long and storied tradition of active, tight, and incredibly ambitious vanilla survival Minecraft servers.
Our extensive and illustrious history has given our leadership over four decades of combined experience of managing a Minecraft community.
We take pride in the world and the community that we have built, and work to make our cities as beautiful, livable, and equitable as possible. We have clear and enforced zoning laws and a proper and flexible permitting system, and our markets are lightly regulated to make sure newcomers have a smooth and fair onboarding experience.
Although the server originally started with no rules at all, we've evolved to establish a governance/moderating system to make sure all Powhattanites have a voice. We have a clear and constantly changing city charter that outlines the processes of electing and roles of our mayor, our city council members, as well as department heads.
Coming Soon! Read our City Charter.
